Fantastic service. Emergency appointment for my dog. Andrei and Dan were lovely, very professional and caring. Andrei (vet) gave me very thorough feedback and information on our dog’s condition during our dog’s emergency stay. Dan was also good at sending feedback by text during the night, to let me know our dog’s condition, obviously loves the animals. It’s good to have a veterinarian service with in house 24/7 emergency care. Please do not change this 😊.

I took my 13-year-old Shih Tzu, Louis, to Chilworth Vets for the first time yesterday, and I can honestly say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. After years of dealing with local vet practices that lack out-of-hours emergency care and overnight staff, discovering Chilworth felt like a huge relief. Not only do they offer these crucial services, but the clinic itself is immaculate, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. Parking was a breeze, and the reception staff were so welcoming and friendly; a great first impression. Louis was seen by Mario, whose care was nothing short of outstanding. It was immediately clear that he genuinely cared about Louis’s wellbeing. His approach was compassionate, professional, and refreshingly personal. At no point did it feel like it was all about the money – something I’ve sadly experienced elsewhere. And to top it all off, the pricing was significantly more reasonable than other vets I’ve visited in the Shirley area. I simply can't praise Chilworth Vets enough. Thank you so much for giving both Louis and me such a positive experience. I'd give you 10 stars if I could!

Saturday night/early Sunday morning, I received the most compassionate response when desperately trying to work out what to do with my dear boy Woody who has been on end of life care and medication for a year. He had lost a lot of weight recently and then had more two seizures that night, having not had any for months. I knew I needed to make a decision for him as he could not stand and was tired these past few days; there was no bouncing back this time, but I was worried that Monday would be too late as I had already made plans for Warm Embrace to visit who were also extremely compassionate. I was guided to give Woody two rectal Diazpam that I had had for a year just in case that night at about 1am. In the morning, Andrei called early to see how I and Woody was. I made the sad decision to have Andrei and a nurse visit in the afternoon. Considering I was not even registered with Chilworth Vets, I received the most amazing care and attention. Woody was registered quickly and an easy pay link was arranged. I made the right decision as Woody then had a 3rd fit whilst Andrei was actually en route. Andrei and the nurse were so kind and made an extremely distressing decision easier - small things - a whole tube of liver paste for Woody that he enjoyed, a card and the idea of him having some chocolate. There was no previous pressure to use their after-care services as I had explained The Pet Undertakers were also coming out on a Sunday (separate review for their wonderful care of Woody). The service here feels like what old-fashioned veterinary care should be. A remarkable 24/7 service (I don't know how they are not exhausted themselves, and I hope they are getting time to look after themselves) because the care Woody and I received was remarkable after being a complete unknown to them. Thank you for making an upsetting situation for my dear old 17year old boy easier with your professionalism and compassion.

Sunday 08/06/25 I believe my dear dog Miss Darci has a UTI, our main Vet is in Reigate and we live on the edge of the New Forest. We are quite anti Corporate Vets due to bad experiences previously. Vets are private medical care and not a number, to see as many as possible to meet profit targets. I had stumbled across Chilworth Vets a couple of months ago on FB. So as per their website they said they are an independent 24/7 Vets. I called and spoke to a lovely Vet Mario. He was so kind and not fazed we were not yet a customer. He advised to call up on Monday after I had explained the situation and that his Vet partner Andrei would be able to see Miss Darci. We went in on Monday. Andrei was so welcoming and immediately knew that Miss Darci had more than a UTI, off he took her for scans where over 30 bladder stones were found. He suggested admitting her immediately and operating in the morning. I agreed, at this time her temp was normal by midnight it was very high. Andrei then took Miss Darci for her op around midday once the temp had been controlled, whilst she was on the operating table, a Nurse held his mobile on speaker so he could advise me that on top of the bladder stones she also had septic peritonitis. I went into immediate panic, Andrei was so calm, caring and professional. I really thought this was it, but Andrei advised I trust him and that although septic peritonitis has a high morbidity rate, Miss Darci really was worth it to try. I completely agreed and it was not until a few hours later that Andrei called me to say Miss Darci was out of surgery and recovering well. Andrei advised it was the worst case of septic peritonitis he had ever come across and the next 72 hours were critical. Miss Darci stayed in for 3 nights, the care she was given was second to none. I received WhatsApp messages and videos of her progress and at least 3 calls per day, explaining the situation. On Thursday night Andrei thought Miss Darci would be more settled if at home, so discharged her for the night on the strict instructions if anything happens to call him and get to Chilworth Vets. Thursday night was a long night for me, just 2 hours sleep, Miss Darci still not eating and very panty but thankfully settled. At 0830 Friday morning, we returned as instructed and Miss Darci was readmitted for the day. For more IV drugs, scans etc. I came to collect her at 1830 and Andrei still took so much of his own time to go through everything that I needed to know for the night. As we are to return on Saturday morning, for hopefully a full discharge. I am now on the wrong side of 50 and have been dealing with Vets my whole live. One of the biggest reasons I know independent Vets are so very superior to Corporate Vets (following the US model is not great for us or our animals) However, Chilworth Vets I would put in the TOP 1% of Vets. At no time, even though we had only just found them and visited for the first time, did we not trust them. Andrei has that rare quality, that sadly many professionals can lack. He is incredibly knowledgeable but along with that has an abundance of empathy and skills to handle any type of situation. These are not learned skills these are within you. Miss Darci spent her time in the Hospital, receiving the highest of quality veterinary care and being pampered and spoilt. If you are in the Southampton area, then I highly highly recommend you becoming a customer here, for the sake of your animal and also your own stress levels and mental health when our animals are sick. Finally in a scale of 1 to 10, Miss Darci and I vote is a resounding Million percent. Thank you, Andrei, Mario, Dan and all the other wonderful Nurses and receptionist. Know you are doing everything right. Thank you.

Our first visit to Chilworth Veterinary Clinic today. As soon as we entered the car park our positive experience began, easy allocated parking. Upon entering Reception, we were greeted by Daisy (Receptionist) who came from behind the desk to say ‘hello’ to Stanley, (our dog,) that was much appreciated. The waiting area is bright, spotless and very inviting. Andrei (Vet) greeted us all, and took us through to the immaculate consulting room. We have never met a Vet so passionate about his job, it shows in every aspect of his being. He was incredibly generous with his time, so friendly and knowledgeable, explaining everything in detail. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chilworth Veterinary Clinic,( and Andrei 100% to anyone who is looking for a Veterinary that will look after your pet as if it’s their own.
